----------------------------------------------
Welcome to the first e-mail message on the aspAccessEditor mailing list. As stated on the sign up page, this a low traffic mailing list. You won't receive another e-mail message from this mailing list for several months. If you wish to unsubscribe, scroll down to this e-mail and follow the instructions.

I'm very pleased to say that the popularity of aspAccessEditor has definitely been increasing of the past few months. It has already been downloaded over 1000 times, and each day the download-rate increases. I'm also furiously coding away to release a new version of aspAccessEditor very soon.

----------------------------------------------
The new version of aspAccessEditor, version 2.2.0, is coming along very nicely. If you have watched the bug tracker (viewable at http://www.aspit.net/bugtracker) you might have noticed that quite a few bugs have been fixed, and several new features have been introduced. For example, the next version will be able to repair and optimize your Access databases for you. You will also be able to order the Record-list by any field you like. In addition, there is now a convenient "Remember Me" function, so you don't have to re-enter your password every time you want to use aspAccessEditor.

aspAccessEditor has also significantly changed in the way it works. The current version, version 2.0.0, can only open one Access database at the same time. The next version will be able to load several Access databases at the same time, allowing you to quickly jump from database to database in the aspAccessEditor environment. This will look very similar to 'phpMyAdmin' (a web-based MySQL tool, found at http://www.phpmyadmin.net).

Though the new version is near-ready to be released, there are several things I want to get done, before I release it. The main thing that I want to do is remove all the HTML from the ASP files, and put them all in separate template files. A template engine will then be necessary to use the templates. For this, I need help. I could very well build my own template engine from scratch, but this will cost a lot of time. It'll be a lot easier if I could simply use an existing one. If you know of a very powerful ASP template engine, feel free to drop me an e-mail at dennispallett@aspit.net. Thanks for any help that I get.

----------------------------------------------
If you need any support with aspAccessEditor, feel free to post any questions or comments you may have at the support forums. A special section dedicated to aspAccessEditor has been setup on the ASPit Forums, available at http://www.aspit.net/forums/. Registration is required to post a message, but after a 2-minute process you will have access to all the functions on the ASPit Forums. I look forward to seeing you there.

----------------------------------------------

Just fixing bugs

Although it may seem there's no updates at all, I am in fact busy with a new version. I haven't got an ETA at all, but I'm making progress.

You can view the progress I make yourself, at the bugtracker, where you can make suggestions yourself as well.

The new version will containt a few new exciting features, like the ability to load several databases at the same. This means you can manage virtually all your databases at the same time. I will also take out all the HTML from the ASP files, and put them in a seperate template file. This means you will be able to easily edit the design so it matches your site's design.

I've got a few more features planned, but I won't release them yet. You'll just have to wait and see! ;-)

Bug tracker added

I've added a bug tracker, available at http://www.aspit.net/bugtracker/. If you find any bug in aspAccessEditor, or you have a feature request, enter it in the bug tracker!

Thanks! :-)
